Tsavo East National Park is one of the largest and oldest park that is flat, with dry plains national park in Kenya bordering the Tsavo West National Park. The park covers a semi-arid area previously known as the Taru Desert. The park can be accessed by road or Air. From Nairobi it is approximated to be 250km and From Mombasa it is 150km.
The park is known for its large mammals and it is considered one of the worlds biodiverse strongholds, providing home to vast number of animals such as; the dusty-red elephants, rhino, buffalo, leopard, pods of hippo, crocodile, waterbucks, East African hedgehog, Man eating lions, lesser kudu, Gerenuk, Hirola and over 500bird species.Other attractions found in the park include; Athi Galana Sabaki River, Yatta plateau, Lungard Falls, Kanderi swamp, Aruba dam and crocodile point.
